In spite of the rather gothic title, this is a contemporary police mystery. A good solid story that keeps one interested to the end.
I can never decide which book to read first so I end up reading them fast to get onto the next one!

Too much about the detectives love life and house renovation - the two are linked, but not with the crime to be solved. Otherwise a reasonable read.
