Roy Grace works in Brighton: a city that presents one face to the world and keeps its darkest business out of sight. These three novels span his career and together they show the range James brings to a single detective and a single city. A stag night prank that turns lethal, a Hollywood star under genuine threat, a predator whose methods echo a case Grace thought was closed. The procedural detail is exact, the Brighton atmosphere unsparing, and Grace himself accumulates weight across the series, rewarding readers who stay with him.
Dead Simple - A stag night prank leaves the groom sealed underground and his rescuers dead. Grace senses something darker than an accident.
Not DeadYet - A Hollywood star arrives in Brighton with a stalker whose obsession has turned lethal. Grace is running out of time.
Dead Like You - A string of savage attacks echoes a case Grace thought was closed. The Shoe Man is back, or someone wants him to think so.
Excellent choice. I have only read 3 books so far but have enjoyed them immensely and I am looking forward to the next book. I have bought from bookhound before and will again. Thank you.
Ian Rankin is always a good read but it is interesting to have one of his other series which shows a different style and for me the best read in the selection.
