Four master craftsmen of crime bring together damaged detectives, institutional pressure, and cold cases that refuse to stay buried. From Scottish landscapes to urban corruption and long-shadowed disappearances, this set delivers dry wit, moral compromise, and the uneasy sense that solving the crime may cost more than anyone admits. Sharp, intelligent crime fiction, curated with care for readers who like their thrillers dark, grounded, and unflinchingly human.

Excellent choice. I have only read 3 books so far but have enjoyed them immensely and I am looking forward to the next book. I have bought from bookhound before and will again. Thank you.
Ian Rankin is always a good read but it is interesting to have one of his other series which shows a different style and for me the best read in the selection.
