Open Cases, DMSMT426B

Every good detective carries at least one unresolved investigation and these four never let a cold case go. They chase serial killers, vanished friends and decades-old bones... And each soon discovers how quickly things become personal. Twisty, gripping reading for anyone who likes a mystery with a pulse, a ticking clock and no obvious culprit.

Ian Rankin, Black and Blue (Rebus 8)- Inspector Rebus is juggling four cases when a killer starts copying Scotland's infamous Bible John murders. The hunt drags him from Edinburgh to Glasgow and out to a North Sea oil rig, while an internal inquiry closes in.

Harlan Coben, Fade Away (Myron Bolitar 3) - Sports agent Myron Bolitar is hired to find Greg Downing, the star player who has vanished from the New Jersey Dragons. To get answers, Myron must pull on a team shirt again, and the search turns dangerous.

Elly Griffiths, The Dark Angel (Ruth Galloway 10) - Forensic archaeologist Ruth Galloway travels to a hilltop town in Italy to examine bones for a TV series. After an earthquake, a priest is found dead and a wartime secret surfaces. Someone wants her to stop digging.

Michael Connelly, The Closers (Harry Bosch 11) - Harry Bosch returns to the LAPD's cold case unit after three years away. A DNA match reopens the 1988 murder of sixteen-year-old Rebecca Verloren, but something about the original police investigation doesn't quite add up.
